Alberto Urrego Eljach was born in Medllin, Colombia on February 10, 1960. In his childhood and adolescence Alberto lived in Turbo, Colombia. Where he attended the department of Antioquia, which is a musical center in Colombia.

Academically, he graduated as a technologist in quality control in the technological institute of Cartagena De Indias. Afterwards, he went on to study mechanical engineering for six semesters at the North University of Barranquilla.

Alberto is also talented in many various musical genders such as: salsa, porro, cumbia, vallenatos, and many others. This great composer, is also a producer and artistic representative. Furthermore, he has many achievements in the development of women in vallenato music. He has also been credited with the discovery of Patricia Teheran.

He has composed 487 musical masters, which have been recorded by over 100 artists. Joe Arroyo, Juan Piña, The muse of Vallenato Lizandro Mesa, Irene Martinez, Rafael Ricardo, Fruko y sus tesos, Los Pechichones , Farid Ortiz, Caribbean Harmonic Orchestra, Hot Orchestra just to name a few.

Alberto Urrego moved to the city of Bogota in 1999, to act as General Manager of phonographic producer for Arco Iris Musical, and currently serving on the Board of Directors.
